Hi, My Kindle is acting funny. It is slow, and it shuts down in the middle of a page. It asks me to reload the novel in archives, but I don't know how to do that. Can you assist?
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: It is a KIndle but the screen is frozen. I don't know what year I bought it, but it is several years old. I have a lot stored on it.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Since yesterday. I don't know how to troubleshoot. Don't know the problem.
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?

Hello, My name is ***** ***** I'll be assisting you. I'm sorry you're having problems.

The problem you're having is often due to the software in the Kindle locking up and it needing to be rebooted. To do this, simply press and hold the power button on the Kindle for 40 FULL seconds, then release and wait a full minute for it to reboot (do no press anything else within that minute).
If this does not cure the issue, try that reset up to THREE TIMES and wait the full minute to see if it reboots.

If you're still running into problems, then try plugging the Kindle into the charger for 15 minutes, then eject it and try the reboot a couple of more times.

Not sure which Kindle you have, and there are a dozen different models, but this is general info from Amazon here on that:

Press the home button at the bottom of your Kindle. Use the up and down directional buttons to highlight the book that you want to archive. Click on the "Remove From Device" button to clear the selected book from your Kindle's active memory.
