That could be a fatal error, the spindle motor beginning to burn out and become incapable of spinning the CD disc fast enough.

But, it could be some other things. So try these:

- another CD, or two. CDs are sometimes individually hard to read...

- a lens cleaning kit. They are cheap and easy to use. For an example:

Also be sure the batteries in the player are new enough, if it is running on batteries. Too little power from the batteries could cause this error also.

That's a good thing to start with.

If it has undergone hot conditions (above 92 degrees F., roughly) a lot, it may be 'broken', electronically.
