Have a Sentry Sale TC8-331. Showed low battery and I Replaced them. Also cleaned contacts. That have been about two months. Now the pad does not respond like batteries are dead. Is there a solution. Tom Drummond

Hello, Tom and thanks for your question. My first recommendation would be to replace the batteries again. See if the contacts need to be cleaned again, due to rust or leaked battery acid. It is recommended to use only alkaline batteries (do not use rechargeable batteries), but you can also use lithium for electronics, as they last longer. If you no longer have your safe's owner's manual, I am providing a downloadable one for you, here: will include all instructions, but will not contain your combination or override key (if your safe came with one). If you replace your batteries again and are sure you're following the correct procedure to open your safe, and it still will not open, you may have a defective solenoid (opening mechanism). In this case, you will need to contact Sentry, report the problem, ask them to send a technician to look at your safe in person, and if there is no other alternative to open it without rendering unusable, you can request a new safe to replace it. Even if it's not still under warranty, Sentry is good about standing behind their products and I have had many clients over the years, who have requested and received a replacement safe, if theirs was found to be defective.
