My 8mm tape ejects immediately when I insert it anatomy Goldstar GVR-DD1 player. How can i fix this so tape will remain in machine and play?

Probably from 15 to 20 years old. I hardly ever use it. I had retired it, but I needed to play an 8mm tape so i plugged it in again. I used to transfer 8mm to VHS tape so people could play the VHS tape on their VCR.
