I have a Pioneer SC-81 receiver and year have had it hooked

Customer Question

I have a Pioneer SC-81 receiver and for a year have had it hooked to a Samusung Curve Ultra-HD. We have charter cable, and even the regular 1080 content looked amazing!!
Two days ago the picture looked just like any other 1080 tv. I had my electronics guy out who hooked up the system. He said that maybe Pioneer did an update that caused and error in the "scaling".
By the way, the same degradation in picture quality is apparent when we are viewing Netflix or Movies purchased on iTunes.
It comes under the heading of "a luxury once acquired becomes a necessity."
I would really appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Hi Jacob, my name is Rusty. I want you to start by bypassing the receiver, and connect your cable/sat box, or Blu-ray player directly to your TV and tell me if the picture improves. This will tell us whether the problem is in the TV or the receiver, then we can get to work fixing the problem. I await your reply.

connect direct to the cable box and the picture is the same.

Ok, and which device did you plug into your TV? It would be best to check with a Blu-ray player.
