Customer Question

We have a Funai DV220FX4. For no apparent reason our recordings on VHS tapes is now closed captioned and we can't figure out how to make it go away. We have the manual but the vast majority of the instructions deal with the DVD side of the device.

Hello, The Closed Captioning comes form the Cable Box- not from the recorder, so if you have CC appearing on VHS tapes- you would need to shut that feature off on your cable box, or perhaps check that feature on the TV itself. The TV can only generate CC through it's coaxial port- the AV ports won't process this. Can you please tell me the model number off the back of the TV, as well as the make and model of the cable box?
