Customer Question

We have a Panasonic DVD Recorder, Model No. DMR-ES40V, that has an error code of F60 on the display. We have attemted to cycle through the "Troubleshooting" suggestions in the Operating Instructions, with no success. We have unplugged it to force a power off, but same error when it is plugged back in. I saw the response from 3/3/09 for a similar model, is this the same issue? Thank you.

Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,

Should you still need assistance...

Offhand, the error code F60 indicates that the systems diagnostic has sensed that the "DVD Module has not been started", there is a likely fault in the Digital PCB.

Initially, as this is a hardware concern requiring that the Panasonic be opened up for diagnosis and effect repairs, are you considering a DIY (do-it-yourself) repair?

A DIY would need the use of a DVM/VOM, a soldering iron/station and safe practices with electrically powered devices.

Would you have use/need for the Service Manual?
