Memorex DVD player wont open. What should I do?

Customer Question

The door on my Memorex DVD player won't open. What should I do?

There should be a pinhole near by the eject button or near the door..
insert a paper clip in that and it should pop out..

You should try to switch off the unit and disconnect the unit from power supply/batteries. Also disconnect any other units connected to it. Leave the system disconnected for 30 minutes. All the electric charges stored in the system should drain out.. It should do a soft reset itself, then restart it.

If this doesn't help then you will need to open the unit and see what is holding this back. it could be a broken spring..

I've tried all those except taking the box apart which is what I was trying to avoid. There is no pin hole anywhere on my box! That's what everyone told me. Put a paper clip in the pin hole. Apparently every DVD player in the world has a pin hole except mine.

I guess I'll take the box apart and if it's the spring, I'll accept.

I do appreciate your taking the time to answer, but I've done all the things you said, except, as I said, taking the box apart.

When you open up the unit.. clean everything with compressed air..
also look for loose connections.. I hope you get it working again soon.

Have a great day.
