I have a first generation Serato scratch live box with a 9

Customer Question

I have a first generation Serato scratch live box with a 9 volt power plug in. I bought it several years ago, and it did not come with a power supply. I bought a generic one from RadioShack that worked well for several years. Recently that has stopped working. Do you have any suggestions for where I could buy another power supply and what the specs should be?

Also, is it possible that the adapter on my box and not the RadioShack power supply itself is what's broken? Not sure how to troubleshoot that.

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

As for the adapter or jack on your box being defective:

1. look into it, with a flashlight. Anything visible wrong, or dirty, linty, etc.?

2. does it have a lot of wiggle, when the power supply is plugged into it?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Looks pretty darn clean
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No major wiggle

OK, then. It's probably the adapter that is defective.

I mean: the power supply is probably defective (I call them 'AC Adapters', which is why I said, 'adapter'.)

The AC Adapter can be obtained from here:

or here

The first is about $9, the second about $15.
