JA: Hi. What seems to be the problem?
Customer: The motor drive is not working. The motor engages but will not drive the shaft.
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Serial no. 143827. belonged to my mother probally baught around 1955.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: It has been played very little over the years and has been out for five years. Certanially not over used.
JA: Anything else you want the instrument expert to know before I connect you?

What sort of instrument is it that is having this problem? it sound vaguely as if it might be a Baldwin or old Hammond or Leslie with a spinning tone generator, but I am not at all sure at this point.

It is a hammond M-3 probably a 1955 owned by my Mother.
Very little use.
