Is the ZJchao-Floppy-Emulator-Roland-keyboard, compatible

Customer Question

Is the ZJchao-Floppy-Emulator-Roland-keyboard, compatible with. KR5 piano? I would like to replace the floppy disc drive with this usb drive. If so how do I remove the floppy drive unit?

Hello Renato,

It is not possible to use this emulator on the KR5, as the KR5 will not recognise it. It can only be used with computers that have the appropriate driver installed on them. There is no driver available for the KR5.

Thanks Pete. Even though it is sold as working with Roland keyboards and looking at some posts in the Internet others have managed to get it to work with their Roland's, though I can't find anyone with a kr5 or 7? Would that mean that some Roland pianos are able to support a driver and others , not? I thought the deiviice could be loaded with its own software? Renato

Hi Renato,

The KR5 and KR7 do not have a USB interface that would support connecting this drive.

Other Roland keyboards may havve such a feature, allowing the drive to be used.
