Customer Question

I own a Roland XP80. I have played piano for many years, but am new to keyboards. How can I get a great string sound from my keyboard?

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

For that keyboard, the three presets that are marked as 'Strings' more or less, are under the

Preset C bank (PR-C):

035 St. Strings

036 Warm Strings

037 Somber Strings

and

040 String Ens

and

061 Deep Strings

and a few other less likely-sounding ones.

Do you know how to bring up the Preset C Bank? if not, I will give you instructions.

PS: Also, the

User Bank

has

044 RichStrings2

I do need to know how to access the PR-C.

OK.

Try accessing expansion banks via the shift key: Shift-7 is supposed to bring up Bank C.
