I need to install a jetsetter single pull 20 and 30 amp GFCI
I need to install a jetsetter single pull 20 and 30 amp GFCI breakers at the subpanel I am installing a hot tub that calls for a 220 subpanel with 2 GFCI breakers a 20 and 30 amp each with a pigtail. Does that pigtail go to the neutral bar? I assume those are supposed to be single pole breakers, correct? The manufacturer says standard double pole 50 amp at the main, correct? The manufacturer calls for a Red, Blue and White 8awg + ground (green) from the main panel but I see a lot of electricians on youtube running 6 gauge. Should I run 6awg? I'm inclined to (copper of course) I estimate it is a 50' or shorter run from the main to the tub and about 20 feet from the sub to the tub. It calls for a blue wire. I can't seem to find that in the big box stores. Is it acceptable to wrap, say the last foot of wire on each end with blue electrical tape or do I need to find blue insulated wire? What size ground wire should I use from the main and should it be insulated? I have heard you can get ground wire “hotspots” in the conduit if the wire is too tight, have you ever heard of that?I thought I would use emt in my house to the exterior wall (which is brick) and sched 40 outside from the sub. I am not very good at bending emt conduit and the run would require an offset and a sweeping 90. What diameter conduit should I use? From what I understand if you don't do bends the exact angle it is impossible to pull the wire no matter what the conduit size. I was thinking 1” emt, is that that overkill? … read more
