VerifiedHello, when you connect the ceiling wire to the fixture wire, make sure that the fixture wire does not slip down and not make metal to metal contact. Start the smaller stranded wire about 1/8" taller than the tip of the house wire. Then screw on the wire nut and check the tightness of it when done by tugging on the fixture wire. You can also look down inside the wirenut to make sure there is good metal to metal contact between the wires.
