Hello, do you mean that the 4 and 5 are tied together and 1,2, & 3 are free?

And just to be sure, they are labeled 1 - 5, not 1, 2, 4, 5, 6?

Customer reply replied 1 month ago
There are a total of five black wires individually
Labeled 1 2 3 no # 4 then 5 & 6 with stranded ends twisted together I need to know what are the colors that go with each number
Thank you

Do you have a multimeter with an ohm setting?

Ask Your Own Electrical Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
No but if you tell me what I have to do I will get one
Electrician: Sam I, Electrician replied 1 month ago

Since the numbering of the new leads doesn't match up with the diagram, like the motor shop should have done, we will need to test each wire between every other wire and note the readings. Do this with and without the capacitor wires connected.

Can you please tell me the exact settings and readings for each wire and their caraspondlng color
Thank you so very much
Electrician: Sam I, Electrician replied 1 month ago
You would put the meter on the ohm setting such as 300 to 500. Then you test between each wire and keep track of the readings and let me know what they are. Then I can try to figure out which wire is what
