Hi John, welcome to

Expert:  ProGrade replied 9 months ago.

If this is a replacement, it will connect to the same two wires from the old one. Since it is AC Voltage , it soes not matter which wire goes to which lead.

Expert:  ProGrade replied 9 months ago.

You would make the connections wih wire connectors comnonly called wire nuts sized to the wire.

OK, so I've been having trouble with this furnace for over a month. The 2 upstairs thermostats dont work even when I place a jumper over the red and while wires. I replaced all of the wires and thermostats but still nothing. I currently have 2 brand new 24vac transformers powering a new aquastat and thermostats. Where is the problem?
Expert:  ProGrade replied 9 months ago.

That's a good question. You did not mention thermostats in your original post, you only mentioned solenoids so I will opt out. Good luck with your repair. Perhaps another expert will offer assistance.
