Customer Question

I just put a photo cell attachment to an outdoor light. It causes the bulb neck to stick out beyond the cone that houses the outlet. Is this dangerous in that rain water may get to the bulbs neck and outlet?

1) Yes, the light bulb needs to remain protected by the housing canopy portion due to weather issues.

2) Can you send me a picture of the light fixture box showing the photo eye and light bulb canopy cover so I can see what you have in place?

Hi, I'm Mike and I'll be assisting you. I agree with Kevin that the photo cell needs to be protected. The lamp, if a PAR Flood may not be affected by water but it's screw shell will be. I suggest not using that type of photo cell. The fixture head should mounted on a box with extra threaded holes
