Customer Question

I have a ceiling fan with 4 light fixtures. I put the "candle flame" 60 W bulbs in them. They stay on for a minutes or so and then just shut off. The fan keeps running. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: I just bought the house and just tried this yesterday.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: i would like to
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: It's an old house. I don't know how old the wiring is.
JA: How old is the system in question? And have you consulted an electrician yet?
Customer: I have not consulted anyone else. Also a couple of other ceiling fixtures in the house won't turn on at all.

If multiple light fixtures are affected the problem is a bad connection on a lighting circuit. If you installed a new fixture recently, I suggest checking the wire nuts on the connections. When a connection is reworked the wired need to be restricted prior to connections. Bent wire ends make for a failed connection.
