Customer: I have installed a pull-chain switch into the fixture.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I have wired all the positive wires in the fixture together and wired the two negative wires together.

When I connect with the wires in the wall, the fixture lights up but I get no "on-off" function from the pull-chain switch.

Hi, I'm Mike G and I'll be assisting you. Connect one lead from the pull chain switch to the fixture blacks and the other to the hot wire. You need to break the hot to the fixture.
