Stack switch (two single pole switches) failed..mounted in

Customer Question

stack switch (two single pole switches) failed..mounted in three-gang box with two single pole dimmer switches...four wires connecting to stack switch (with connecting tab in tact)..have tried various combinations without success... finding that the two dimmer circuits are being backfed thru the stack switch.. now the top switch operated correctly but bottom stack switch operates the remaining three circuits ... shutting power to the two dimmer circuits when you shut off the exterior light with the lower switch in stack... should there be a jumper of sorts to keep the two dimmer circuits powered after the switch?

Hi, I'm Mike G and I'll be assisting you.

  1. Was the bridge between the black screws in the double switch cut?
  2. What are the wire colors?
  3. Do you have a 2 wire voltage tester?
