Customer Question

I installed a GFI receptacle (second outlet in the run) and when I test it the test light shows it is hooked up correctly and there is no power at the outlet as it should be. However. when I test the other outlets in the run (after the GFI) the test light indicates there is still current going to them. Everything seems to be hooked up correctly but apparently it is not. Any thoughts on this?

Welcome to

If it has power and you are certain all connections are correct the most likely cause is a defective device.

Check & double-check the line wires (power coming in) and the load wires (power going out) . It is very easy to get them mixed up.
