My microwave caught fire on Memorial Day. I had it replaced.

Customer Question

My microwave caught fire on Memorial Day. I had it replaced. I also have new appliances and a relatively new furnace. The furnace motor burned out last week. The microwave does not cook in the middle or takes longer than usual and it is only a few months old. The fridge is running warm. I believe that the new oven works, but it is too new to tell.
Could this be an electrical problem? How should I proceed with it?

Hi, I'm Mike G and I'll be assisting you. You have 2 choices on how to proceed.

1) with a 2 wire voltage test follow my instructions on testing

2) call the utility provider, explain what happened and have them check the voltage supplied.

Let me know which you prefer.

I will call the power company. Thanks.

Very good. If they determine the problem is on your end, come back and I'll walk you through the troubleshooting. You'll need a 2 wire voltage tester to do so. Please don't forget to rate me.
