I replaced the switch that goes on the light of the ceiling

Customer Question

I replaced the switch that goes on the light of the ceiling fan. The old switch had 2 blue wires.
The new switch has 2 black wires. When I unscrewed the light fixture from the motor housing, I must have pulled the connection wires out because I don't know where they go now. This is a newer fan about a year old with the plastic connector that holds all the wires in place. I had to cut 1 of the blue wires and attach the little connector for the light itself.
I hope you can get what I am trying to say.
Thank you, Carol
