Customer Question

bought a whirlpool hot water heater (may 2014) electric and they said I need to change my breaker (push-o-matic) from 20 to 30. Fella from church changed it out (he retired from Duke Energy- pole climber) I don't have hot water year and a half later ... our breaker tripped a couple days ago and my boyfriend didn't know what breaker to push so he pushed all of them. Now when we try to push it back on it wont stay on? Is that a problem with the breaker? or hot water heater?

Hi, I'm Mike G and I'll be assisting you. The problem could be either one. Do you have a 2 wire voltage tester and willing to test in the panel and at the hot water tank?

no I don't:-(

Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do without one. They are available at any home center. I suggest a Volt/Con tester. Easy to use and cost around $20.00. Get one and we can continue.
