Customer Question

Installed security light with motion sensor. Have 120v to light fixture but does not power on? Could it be something with grounding wires?

I installed this light on other side of house no problem. I tried a 2nd new light just as a test snd it doesn't work either. Wiring tests to 120v with voltmeter but no power to light fixture?

Hi, I'm Mike G and I'll be glad to assist you. The thing to check is the setting switches on the photo/ motion sensor. If a change there doesn't resolve the issue, the sensor is defective. Having or not having a ground doesn't affect operation.

The other security light that works has a constant small red flashing light and it works in test mode. The other two lights I have don't have either working. Could I have purchased two "bad" lights? Or is something else up? Wiring in is pretty straight forward.

With all the items made in China, getting bad sensors is very possible. You have 120V, have it wired correctly, so what else could it be. Return them as defective.
