Replacing a dimmer switch with a updated version for CL. two switches in the room control the lights. house wires are one white, two black. new dimmer has one black, one red, one red/white.

The wire attached to the black screw is the hot in the lead switch. You'll need a 2 wire voltage tester to determine which switch is the lead switch. The luton dimmer has to be installed in the lead position. See the attachment for the wiring diagram.
