Customer Question

I have a Mira shower which has stopped working. The operating light comes on briefly when the switch is depressed but shower does not function.
I have tested for power entering the unit.
I have replaced the switch and solenoid but to no avail.
I have replaced shower unit-exactly the same symptoms.
I checked the isolator switch and found that the negative terminal had burnt out-thought I'd found the problem.
Cut out charred cable and reconnected to a new- and not cheap-isolator switch.
Turned power on-isolator switch illuminated but exactly same result with shower.
Could the cable be damaged ?

Yes the cable could be damaged.
With the end being charred there could be more damage.
Check the feed to the cable.
Make sure voltage is correct.
Disconnect the cable at both ends and test for shorted
conductors ( coming in contact with each other)
If bad replace cable. Customer
