Replacing 1hp hayward superpump! The previous pump had jumper in the 115V position which I changed!! Does white go to L1 and black(hot) to L2?

If operating on the 115 volts,
L1 is for the black hot wire
L2 is for the white neutral wire
Ground wire connects to the metal frame, normally a green screw

Thank you for your prompt response! Does wire placement remain the same when running in a circuit with a 115V timer on pool propane heater?

If you are referencing L1 and L2, yes.
It will hold true for any of the 115 volt situations, 120 volt wire to the L1 and neutral wire to the L2.
