Hi, I'm Mike and I'll be glad to assist you. The leads in a HID fixture are identified as to what voltage connections are applicable. You'll see a common and a lead identified 240V. Connect the feed to them.

240 volts has two hot (120) leads and one common as I am sure you are aware. Do I connect one hot to the 120 and one to the 240? Or both hots to the 240? Thanks Dennis

2 hots, one to common and the other to the 240V lead. The neutral isn't required.

So does the neutral get grounded to the case then?

No, if you have a neutral with the 2 jots it isn't used. Just cap it. The ground wire should have a designated connection in the fixture.
