Customer Question

I have a 52" Hampton Bay ceiling fan model 753332. It has a remote control. All of a sudden it doesn't work. I know the remote is working because I have other ceiling fans in the house and went I set the remote for them it works. So, not sure if the receiver is working or not. This happened one other time and then all of a sudden it started working again.

Sparky :

Hello, my name is Rick and I'm here to answer any of your electrical questions.

Sparky :

Is the receiver in the canopy on this fan?

JACUSTOMER-3dxzcz0n- : yes
Sparky :

Have you tried to bypass the fan? If not. You can bypass it and see if the fan works. If it does work then you will know it is the receiver.

JACUSTOMER-3dxzcz0n- : yes
Sparky :

Bypass the receiver. Sorry.

JACUSTOMER-3dxzcz0n- : yes
Sparky :

If the fan worked. Then it's the receiver, since you have tried the remote on your other fan.

Pull on the wires to make sure you have food connections to the wire nuts. A lot of times the stranded wires are not in there making a connection.
