Home Generator: What size is needed for a 2400 square foot house. I wish to run the whole house. I have a gas water and gas heat. I would like to use natural gas the generator fuel.

Can you tell me if you have central air? If so - what size is it?

Yes I have central air Not sure about the size.

I would recommend getting a 10kw generator then. This unit will come with a whole house main breakered transfer switch. So what will happen is that when the power goes out - you will have a 1 minute waiting period then the power will transfer over to the generator. This will provide power to your entire home as if the power was never turned off.
