Customer Question
All 6 batteries are...

All 6 batteries are new and have a voltage of just over 8 volts but the cart is still moving a bit slow

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked all the fuses? Do you have a wiring diagram?

If a fuse is blown the cart would not even move. Is that not correct?

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car?

President club car 2008

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?

Just got all new batteries

D you have a voltmeter? What is reading across the battery pack? A 48-volt pack, fully charged will be close to 54 volts. Does the charger come on when attached to the cart?

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
the voltage is about 51 volts
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

Not as high as it should be if fully charged. Does charger come on when attached?

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
voltage is now 52.4 v
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
The charger does work and comes on when attached
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

Is it on charge?

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

Hook up the charger and read the battery pack voltage.

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
53.9 V
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

unless it is climbing, the charger is not working.

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
it is climbing. Was 48v then 50v now 53.9v and climbing
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

Let it charge until charger cuts off, then try cart.

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
now 54.1 v

Let it charge until charger cuts off, then try cart.

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
did that 3 times already. The cart runs slow when the 6 new batteries are fully charged.
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

Same problem with old batteries?

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
The old batteries were no good and I changed them this year. Could it be the speed sensor?
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

Can be problem with the foot pedal, (MCOR) motor control output regulator, or speed sensor on the drive motor.

Customer reply replied 2 months ago
In what order should I test them? What about the foot pedal?
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
What is your best guess?
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
Cart goes very slow up hills but goes better down hills so I not think it is the speed sensor. Is that logic correct?
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
Does the speed sensor test you gave me apply to a 2008 president car?
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
Are you there?
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
Are you there still?
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

I was outside working on a mower. I'm thinking the MCOR.

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
I disconnected the speed sensor and the cart is still behaving poorly as it did with it attached. What does that mean?
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
I did the speed sensor test per the link and the cart did not beep.
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

Have you tried the MCOR test?

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
I do not have the hand held club car computer. So no I did not.
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

You can test it with a multimeter on ohms.

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
Thanks. I will try. But what about the speed sensor? Is it good?
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

You said it made no difference, s I assume it is good.

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
Not sure I understand that logic. The cart performs poorly with or without the speed sensor attached. It is as if it is not there.
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
Not sure how an ohm reading could do the test given on the website.

Customer reply replied 2 months ago
that test will take a while. What about the speed controller?
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

The MCOR is what sends the throttle signal to the controller. It is not the likely culprit!

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 2 months ago
then it sounds like you think it is the speed sensor.
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

No, I think it is the MCOR at the foot pedal!

Customer reply replied 2 months ago
How do I test the MCOR at the foot pedal?
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 2 months ago

It was in the link I sent from Buggys gone wild.
