Make and model? 36 or 48 volts? Battery age? Do you have a voltmeter to test battery voltage?

Does the charger run full 8 hr cycle before shutting off?

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 10 months ago

most performance problems with electrics is a lack of battery voltage. And a voltmeter, less than $10 at retail or auto supply, is invaluable. The battery pack needs to be checked, each battery checked and the charger output needs to be checked

I used a volt meter. All the batteries are good
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 10 months ago

OK< what do they read? What is battery pack voltage? Does it show same when the car drops performance?

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
They all read about 5-6 volts. How do I read the battery pack voltage. The car drops performance after about 4 seconds. If I leave sitting for 2 mins it will run fast again for about 4 seconds
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 10 months ago

Batteries are very low, looks to n=me they are not being charged fully. A fully charged 6 volt battery will be close to 6.5 volts. To check battery pack, you test from the first positive to the last negative, reading will be the pack voltage, fully charged 36 volt pack will be over 39 volts.

Ask Your Own Electric Vehicles Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
The battery reading on the golf cart says fully charged. If the batteries were bad or old wouldn't it run fast for longer than 4 seconds?
Electric Vehicle Mechanic: Curtis B., Other replied 10 months ago

If your batteries have anything close to the 5 volts you stated, batteries are not charged. And if not, cart will drop performance almost immediately. Are you using digital voltmeter? What is actual readings?
