I have a 2001 cart, Battery charger shows battery full, I checked each battery they all showed about 8,5 volts, When I step on excellerator cart starts to go and then quits?
JA: Does the battery look like it's leaking? And does it have a strong smell -- like sulfur?
Customer: Not that I could tell but charger was hooked up before I started.
JA: What is the model of your '01 electric?
Customer: I would have to look that up.
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes, took off each terminal and cleaned, check each cell for fluid did add some water to a few, and checked batteries with volt ohm meter,
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Was charger left attached to cart for long period? If you plug charger in now, does it come on and start charge? Strong sulpher smell is sign of a shorted battery and if any cell is shorted, it will affect the whole pack. After cart quit, check each battery again, look for one that is 2 volts more or less than the others!
