I have a ezgo golf cart and one battery went bad so I replaced it now when I try to hook last cable sparks fly when I try to hook the last cable

All batteries have to hook negative to positive , from one battery t the next, leaving one open posiitve and one open negative, which gives the 36 volts. You should have your last negative unhooked, for any battery or cable work, and it should be the last thing to be connected. If yo have large spark, you have something on or shorted, or battery connected wrong.
