Electric Vehicles Club Car: If batteries have not been charged

If batteries have not been charged for a while and charger is hooked up and battery condition(red light flashes) and it doe not change when charger is hooked up what might problem be. The batteries are all new.

Batteries don't have enough voltage to close the relay in the charger! Is this 48 volt unit? Has to have around 36 volts for the relay to close. Do you have 6- 8 volt batteries are 4-12 volt batteries? With automotive 12 volt charger you can charge one batter at a time for about 30 minutes, to get voltage up enough the carts charger will start.

6- 8 volt batteries , I will try to charge one at a time with slow 12 volt charger, should all batteries be disconnected to do this

No, you can charge with them all in series. Just do one at a time.
