My kindle is connected to wi-fi. I can get on the internet but I can’t open my email. It says-connection problem.

There seems to be an issue with the mail server connection. This happens from time to time and is usually only temporary. In such a case, try accessing your emails at a later time. You can also try powering down and restarting your Kindle as that has been known to fix connection issues in the past.

You can also try accessing your emails on a PC. If you are able to open them, then it means the Kindle needs to be rebooted.

Hold down the power button until you see a menu appear on the screen. Tap on Reboot or Restart and confirm.

Have you tried deleting the email then adding it back? Also, it could be a temporary issue if it has only been 5 minutes.

No I haven’t tried that. I don’t see anything happening when I hold my finger on it. It has been since December, but I have several ebooks that have been emailed to me, so I need it now.

To reset your Fire tablet:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Settings.
  2. Tap Device Options, and then tap Reset to Factory Defaults.
  3. Tap Reset to confirm.
