I have a kindle fire HD8. I listen to books. Problem is after a short time the screen goes blank, meaning I have no way to pause or reverse what I am listening to

Technician's Assistant: When did you last charge your Kindle Fire?

It is fully charged, always is and has been. It was a gift from my daughter two months ago

Technician's Assistant: Have you tried a force reboot (pressing and holding the power button for a minute)?

No I haven't. I have turned it off and then on a few times, but the lit screen is not sustained.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the E-reader Expert to know before I connect you?

Could you please try to restart your kindle once by Hold down the power button for twenty seconds to reboot the device, and then tap the power button to turn it back on. Please let me know if it works for you.
