I have a kindle...

I have a kindle fire hd7 4th generation. It tells me I am running out of internal storage. How can I fix this?

Technician's Assistant: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?

Kindle HD 7 4th generation??? It's about 3 - 4 years old

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?

A month or so. I have tried deleting some books but haven't had much luck

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the E-reader Expert to know before I connect you?

I just want to know how to get more memory

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade the internal storage of your Kindle so the only way to free up space is to delete the books/movies/videos/etc.

I have 2 videos totaling .23 seconds, no movies but over 200 books. I have tried deleting books from list but they never disappear

To delete the books, you will need to delete them from your Amazon account.

Let's try this instead:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Settings.
  2. Tap Device Options, and then tap Reset to Factory Defaults.
  3. Tap Reset to confirm.
