My Kindle oasis is...

My Kindle oasis is unable to connect to the Wi-Fi network. I have entered my password ***** the correct network but am still having issues - advice please

Kindle Oasis purchased in February 2017

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?

Started this afternoon - have tried several times but is still coming up with Wi-Fi Error

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the eReader expert to know before I connect you?

When I go into wireless in setting its says not connected however other Wi-Fi devices don't seem to have a problem

Initially, are you able to determine the Kindle Oasis' current software version?

No where would I find that infomation pleaseI'm in Australia it would be easier by text

Determine the current software version on your Kindle Oasis before downloading and installing a software update, since you may already have the latest software update.

To determine the current software version on your Kindle Oasis:

From Home, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Settings.
From Settings, tap the Menu icon again, and then tap Device Info.

If you have the latest update, it should look like this: Firmware Version: Kindle 5.8.10

If you see an earlier version, then an update would be needed.

Then it would need a software update to address the issues with WiFi connections (among others).

Please try:

From your computer, download the applicable software update file for your device. Please click HERE.
Turn on your Kindle and connect it to your computer using the USB cable.
Drag and drop the downloaded update file from your computer onto the Kindle drive.
Important: Do not drop the file into one of the folders within the Kindle drive.
After the file has transferred successfully, eject the Kindle to safely disconnect your Kindle from your computer.
Disconnect the USB cable from your Kindle and your computer.
Start the software update:
- From Home, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Settings.
- Tap the Menu icon again, and then tap Update Your Kindle.
- Note: This option will be grayed out if the most recent update has already been installed or if the file transfer was not successful.
- Tap OK to perform the update. You will see Your Kindle Is Updating.
Once the update is complete, your Kindle will automatically restart.

Please post back results / observations of the above once tried.
