I have two with broken screens. Can they be repaired and can I do it?
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Both are 5th generation. Fire HD 7 is one of them. the other is Fire HD 7 also but I am not sure if it is a 5th generation.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: they are about 2 & 3 years old.
JA: Anything else you want the eReader expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, not that I can think of.

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is***** will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

They can be fixed, service-repaired that is.

As for whether you can do that repair yourself, it depends upon how much experience you have with fine electronic device disassembly and reassembly, what tools you have, etc.

If you have no fine tools, I would advise you to forget about it, you cannot repair device like Kindle Fire tablets/readers, without some fine tools. Minimally some fine-scale screwdrivers, both flat and Phillips type.

Would you care to know how you might go about having the broken screens fixed for you?
