Hi there, I am Cris and will be glad to assist you.

First, let's try a power reset of your device to see if that clears up any software glitches. Press and hold the power switch for 20 seconds shut off the device then turn back on. When it boots up see if you can now access the store.

The issue could be an outdated firmware version on your Kindle. Please do the follow to find out what software you have on your device.

From Home, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Settings.
From Settings, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Device Info.

Let me know what it is.

As I suspected your Kindle firmware is out of date. Last Spring Amazon set a cut of date to have older Kindle's up to date with firmware if not they would not be able to access the internet.

Your Kindle needs to be on Firmware Version 5.3.7.3

Connect your Kindle to the PC with USB cable. Your Kindle will appear as a drive. Download the firmware from the from the link below, download 5.3.7.3.

Move the file onto the Kindle, do not place it in any folder. Disconnect the Kindle and open the settings menu on your Kindle, and then open the dropdown menu. You should see an option labeled "Update your Kindle". Select it, and then confirm the update.
