I have the original kindle. It was been deresistered. Can I get it registered again
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: I am not sure. I bought it whenthe first kindle came out.

Customer: It still plays what was already on it, but I have already read and listened to it all.

You can do so, but it will almost certainly need a software update first.

If you go into the menu on the kindle, what does it show as the current kindle version?

the menu only has shop=settings- and experimeental

You're in the wrong part of the menu, actually go into settings and you'll see it from there.
