I have a Kindle Paperwhite and it sat idle for a month or so. When I opened it up it showed the battery was low. I charged the battery and tried to open it but I keep seeing the same message on the screen: "Please wait while your
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact make and model of your machine?

JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: It just started today after I charged it. Nothing happens when I push the button on the bottom. Just the same "Please wait a moment while your Kindle starts up". I don't know what to try if nothing happens when I push the button.....
JA: Anything else you want the eReader expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I did try to download 2 books earlier today before I knew the battery was low. But I don't know if the books made it on there.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer.

Lets try resetting your kindle; follow the steps below:

1) Keep your Kindle connected with the charger.

2) Press and hold the Power button on the bottom of the device for about 25 seconds and then release the switch.

3) Please press and hold your kindle for atleast 25 seconds.If you only hold the Power button for only 5 to 10 seconds you'll just turn the unit OFF. So you have to hold the power button for atleast 25 seconds.
