Customer Question

With my Kindle fully charged I can no longer get the "swipe to open" command.
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: It is less than one yr old. It was a Christmas present last year. I cannot read any of the writing on the back so I don't know the model.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Just once, on Sunday. I haven't been able to do any troubleshooting. When I press the "on" button there is a green light but nothing else happens.
JA: Anything else you want the eReader expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Welcome, I am Cory. Thank you for asking your question today.

This can be caused by a glitch in the firmware.

Let's reset the firmware by pressing the power button for 40 seconds to reset the Kindle.

Let me know if it is working after that or if we have to troubleshoot further.
