my nook hd tablet is very slow and I keep getting this error message:process system. not responding
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: it is 2 years old but I don't know model other than nook hd plus
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: for last 2 months and restarting is only thing I did

Your Nook is likely rarely shut down, as just pushing the button puts the Nook into sleep mode. However, if you press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds, your Nook should will pop up a box asking if you want to turn it completely off. If you tap 'Yes', it will fully turn off. Wait a minute or two and then turn it back on and see if it is running better. That may be enough to resolve your issues.

However, if you do continue to experience problems, we may need to do a factory reset. The steps fo ra factory reset are listed below:

he following procedure details how to perform a NOOK HD/NOOK HD+ factory reset. A factory reset will deregister your device, removing all digital books and files, including side-loaded content. The titles you have purchased will remain in your account.

NOTE: It is recommended that all side-loaded content you wish to save is backed up to an SD card or computer before proceeding.

To Hard Reset NOOK HD/NOOK HD+, complete the following:

  1. Confirm the device is powered off.
  2. Hold the Power and Home key simultaneously.
  3. Release the Power and Home key once the NOOK logo appears. A Factory Reset prompt will appear.
  4. To continue, press the Home key.
  5. To exit, press the Power key.
