Kindle is jammed on USB drive mode; nothing I can do will let me get back to home. Also my credit card has changed is this difficult to update it to buy books. Elaine Pizzey
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Nearly 2 years old. Where would I find the model number?
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Just happened now. I am sorry have barely used Kindle in the 2 years so a real novice. I plugged it into USB cable, but it has now jammed. No troubleshooting as can't get out of that page.
JA: Anything else you want the ereader expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Think I really need to know how to buy books and how to insert my new credit card. I know the wifi user name and password.

I will be glad to assist you with this.

This is usually caused by a glitch in the firmware and can be resolved by a forced reboot, then your kindle will work normally again. Slide or press and hold the power switch for 40 seconds, then release. Then check for normal operation.

To view or edit your 1-Click payment method:

  1. Go to Manage Your Content and Devices at from your computer.
  2. From Settings, select Edit Payment Method below Digital Payment Settings.
  3. Select the desired credit card information, or add a new card, and then click Continue.
  4. Enter the desired billing address, and then click Continue. You will be taken back to the Digital Payment Settings page where you can view your edited 1-Click payment method.
