I received a notice from Google that my kindle was infected

Customer Question

I received a notice from Google that my kindle was infected with a virus and wanted me to download an app. Does google do this or is it something I should ignore?
JA: What kind of computer do you have?
Customer: It was on my Kindle Fire, not my computer
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Not unless it was automatic
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, I just wanted to know what to do

Hi there and welcome

This was a scam message as the Kindle is not at risk of viruses.

Where exactly did you see this message?
