My Kindle seems to have "died." It won't do anything when

Customer Question

My Kindle seems to have "died." It won't do anything when the recharged is attached and plugged in to the power. I'm sorry, I don't know what number it is, nor how long I've had it.
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: The model is # (or looks like -- my trifocals don't focus too well on tiny print) 000801.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: It started a couple of days ago. I've tried recharging it, but that hasn't worked.
JA: Anything else you want the eReader expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No -- I suppose I just need to know if it is just old. Don't know when I received it as a gift.

I'm sorry about the issue. Can you please press and hold (or slide and hold) the power on / off button / switch on your kindle for about 45 seconds, then turn it back on and check.

- Is there any power / light? Is there anything on the screen?
