Customer Question

I have a samsung nook and I forgot my passcode. how do i reset it?
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Galaxy Tab 4 - it's at least 2 years old ( I think). :-)
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Just tried to get into it today. Haven't used it in a few months. After 5 failed attempts it just tells me to wait 25 seconds. I don't get an option to reset.
JA: Anything else you want the eReader expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, that's it.

Hi there! My name is***** am a computer professional with over 15 years of experience with both Mac and Windows computers, phones, tablets, and printers. It would be my pleasure to assist you with this.

Please try the following procedure and let me know the results:

  1. In order to switch off the tablet hold down the Power key until the device powers off.
  2. After that, press and hold together Volume Up + Home + Power button.
  3. Don't release the keys until the Samsung Logo appears on the screen.
  4. Select "wipe data / factory reset" by using Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to confirm.
  5. In the next step choose "Yes -- delete all user data" to confirm whole operation.
  6. When the Recovery Mode appears again select "reboot system now".
